Find out what the candidates believe - get informed about more than just the Presidential race
As part of a nationwide effort, the 2008 Kentucky Campus Vote Initiative seeks to involve Kentucky college students in the upcoming election as informed and engaged volunteers and voters. This nonpartisan initiative is generously funded by the Public Life Foundation of Owensboro (PLFO) and administered by the Kentucky Campus Compact (KyCC).
Youth voter turnout in Kentucky (those voters between the ages of 18 and 24) has been growing in the general elections (42.8% in 2000, 55.6% in 2004) and holding steady in midterm elections (about 20% average for 2002/2003 and 2006/2007.) These young voters represented about 9% of the citizens who cast a ballot in 2004. We want to increase those numbers! Through this initiative, we will to help campuses enhance their existing programming in order to mobilize and engage more students and to collaborate more effectively and efficiently.
To help each campus in Kentucky reach the following goals:
With generous funding from the Public Life Foundation of Owensboro, KyCC has been able to hire a program manager who will support Kentucky college campuses in their pursuit of the three goals listed above. The program manager will:

Ky Campus Vote Initiative wants students and schools across the state and the nation to know about the work you've done. Together, Kentucky college campuses will learn, grow and succeed in transforming the democratic conversation.
